Brodequin-Passable
Since 2005, ADF has committed to helping the communities of Brodequin and Passable improve their early grade schools through the St Thomas Parish in Aquin. With an initial grant of 80000.00 HTG much was done to open schools to children who otherwise would have been deprived access to basic literacy.
In Brodequin, ADF’s support contributed to the purchase of benches, blackboards, desks and other supplies to reopen a school that had been closed for approximately three years. ADF has agreed to provide in 2008 a grant to build a fence around the school perimeter, thus providing a safer environment for the children.
In Passable, a small community in the marshland outside Aquin, the Parish had planted the seeds for the first school by using the newly built church to house three classrooms for early grades. Two members of the community had promised the land that will be used to build a school. ADF made the commitment to raise the funds necessary to carry this project forward, as soon as the land is made available.
